The Call of the Dark (Quest 2)

Since the Great Tree with Asteria, she knew another call would come. She knew how it would feel. The only thing she didn't know was where it would draw her to. Sirani had been waiting for it. She wanted to go and find it again. So she did. She felt the call inside of her, not a voice, but a force, pulling her to her feet and north. She went, wanting to find out what this was about, not even paying attention as she swerved through the trees.

But as soon as her hooves hit long cold ash, she stopped abruptly. Sirani stared into the dark, burned up forest. The call was strong. Her instincts were stronger. She stepped back. Suddenly she flicked her ear and walked right into the forest. She was no coward. Her mind said she could take anything in this forest.

Even though her heart said no.
